That short story I wrote on request last week? It took over my life.
Every night, it was: “Just five more minutes (at 1 a.m.)” or “Honey, could you come read this version and give me your opinion?” I went through five editors, four late nights, three subplots, two completely different sets of first pages, and ONE final version.
Now I’m in editorial mode, cleaning up all the stories I wrote during the first part of the write-a-thon. With only a week left, I’ve edited, submitted, or sold all but one: the <I>Kitchen Nightmares</I> of terraforming.
